Spiritual Council

Who - What - Why?

The Spiritual Council are made up of children in KS2 who have applied for and been awarded a place on the council. They meet regularly and are able to lead and take part in whole school collective worship. Throughout the year they will lead events including our whole school faith days. At lunch times they will lead prayer sessions in the 'space.' They are also involved in monitoring worship and providing feedback to staff.

  • To improve the school according to the children’s point of view.
  • To make sure each class has an opportunity to voice their opinions.
  • To discuss and raise issues.
  • To discuss any issues with the Head Teacher.

Reading Ambassadors 

Who - What - Why?

The Librarians are made up of children from KS2 who have applied for and been successful in being awarded a place on the team. They are responsible for ensuring our super library is tidy and kept up to date.

  • To improve the school according to the children’s point of view.
  • To make sure each class has an opportunity to voice their opinions.
  • To discuss and raise issues.
  • To discuss any issues with the Head Teacher.

Sports Crew

Who - What - Why?

The Sports Crew are made up of children who have applied for and been rewarded with a place on the team. They receive training in order to lead events at break/lunch time for their peers and children in EYFS/KS1. They also assist staff to lead/umpire and score events throughout the year including termly house competitions.

  • To improve the school according to the children’s point of view.
  • To make sure each class has an opportunity to voice their opinions.
  • To discuss and raise issues.
  • To discuss any issues with the Head Teacher.

Magnificant Minds/Helping Hands 

Who - What - Why?

The Magnificent Minds team consists of children from KS2 who have applied for and been rewarded with a place on the team. The children meet regularly and organise and led various events throughout the year.

  • To improve the school according to the children’s point of view.
  • To make sure each class has an opportunity to voice their opinions.
  • To discuss and raise issues.
  • To discuss any issues with the Head Teacher.

Magnificant Minds

  Archbishops Young Leaders Award

Who - What - Why?

The Archbishops Award will allow chosen children to develop their leadership skills and experiences for life.  Our mission at Cottingham CofE is to Care, Build, Follow and Think and we feel that the Archbishops' Award will allow children to reflect upon our mission showing dignity, compassion and respect.

  • To develop global links that are further afield than our current awareness. 
  • To enhance opportunities for children to reflect upon themselves and others.
  • To further enhance the impact of our school upon the local community.
  •  To be model citizens as well as advocates for others.

ECO Team 

Who - What - Why?

The ECO team consists of children from KS2 who have applied for and been rewarded with a place on the team. The children meet regularly and organise and lead various events throughout the year with an ECO twist.  Climate change is happening now, the impact will only increase.  Pupils at Cottingham school are committed and will make a difference.

  • To save our world and look after our animals. 
  • People could see what we are doing and start to do the same. 
  • To look after our animals and stop them from eating plastic .
  • To save our world, animals plants & trees to make our world healthy so we can survive longer
